One Woman Man Comedy Drama Coming to Florida in June

JACKSONVILLE, FLA – “One Woman Man,” Stage Play written by Marlo Roberson and Jamal Blair that debuted in New York, is coming to Florida for a special presentation at The Ritz Theatre and Museum in Jacksonville.

“One Woman Man” presents a one-day spectacular, June 17th at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., the day before Father’s Day.

The show first debuted at Theater 294 in Farmingdale, NY, in June of 2017 to a sold-out run.

“The situations are comical, dramatic and heart-felt. The plot moves the play forward,” co-writer Marlo Roberson said. “It’s a comedy that deals with real life situations in a clearly humorous way.”

“One Woman Man” tells the story of a couple and the dramatic developments they face as they go through life.

“It’s one of the funniest shows I’ve ever seen,” said Claude Solnik, playwright in residence at the Theater for the New City and a former reviewer and managing editor of Show Business. “I enjoyed seeing the play and I am happy it’s back for another run.”

Alonzo Stephan is a hard-working man trying his best to make his way up the ladder of success. His loving and supportive wife Keisha stands by his side through it all.

“What happens when a man who has it all stares temptation in the eyes?” “Will he stay true to his wife?  Or will he jeopardize his marriage?”

In “One Woman Man,” we watch Alonzo and Keisha go through a plot filled with twists and turns. Is love the antidote to infidelity?

“We got a great reaction from the audiences, the characters are endearing and real. The show never gets bogged down. It has a good structure and dialogue,” said Charles Calabrese, MD., who enjoyed the presentation and found it to be extremely funny.”

Obed Burgess plays Alonzo, James Sharp plays Tyrone, Latasha Yancy plays Rolanda, Jamal Blair plays Mr. Whitendale, Tynese Jones plays Mrs. Whitendale, Marlo Roberson plays Antwan, Rochelle McKenzie plays Keisha, Tyra Malloy plays Contessa, Iris Jones plays Vivian, Jackie Brown plays Ms. Louis and Adrianna McBeth plays Sister Shirley.

“It’s a timeless piece with a strong message” Roberson said. “It’s about everyday people and relationships. I recommend it wholeheartedly.”
