2022 WOMEN VETERANS WEEK OF RECOGNITION – JUNE 4 – 11

“FINDING THE LEADER WITHIN”

The 9th Annual Women Veterans Week of Recognition is from June 5th through June 11th.

Jacksonville will play host to the State of Florida Women Veterans Conference on June 4th.

Dear Community Partners,

Women Veterans Recognition Week is now celebrated in June! We are aligning with the national observance and we hope that you will join us in celebrating June 5-12, 2022. The week of events will not only celebrate the accomplishments of women veterans, but also bring awareness to the unique needs and challenges they face in transitioning into civilian life. We invite you to support these events, participate in the activities and share this information with your colleagues to show your support of women veterans.

For the first time, Jacksonville will host the State of Florida Women Veterans Conference June 4, 2022. Women who served will come from all parts of the state to hear from speakers on a variety of subject matters. This event will draw over 300 attendees and vendor opportunities.

This year, all events will focus on mental wellness. We recognize the increase of suicide among our veterans, especially women, and want to ensure they have a platform to discuss, learn and be encouraged. A tentative schedule of events are attached. We believe everyone will walk away knowing they can excel beyond their own expectations.

Culminating the week of events, we will host our gala to honor our WWII – Vietnam era women veterans. We call them our “trailblazers” and we recognize their sacrifices. In addition, we will recognize women veterans who are making a difference in her community. Our theme for the gala is “Finding the Leader Within”. We encourage you to purchase your tickets early and sponsor a Trailblazer. Please see attachment for additional sponsorship opportunities.

We hope that you will sponsor the conference and our week-long celebration and allow the veterans on your staff to participate in scheduled activities. By being a sponsor, you show your support for our mission and will help us sustain this vibrant initiative. Sponsorship also show your support for our veterans and provide you the opportunity to “give back” to the community.
